About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Pediatric Psychiatric Care **Job Specialty:** Inpatient Pediatrics **Job Duration:** 12 months **Shift:** 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-hour night shift **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year in Behavioral Health nursing; Pediatric Behavioral Health experience required **License:** Registered Nurse **Certifications:** BLS; MOAB to be obtained on site as part of orientation **Must-Have:** - De-escalation experience - Experience with physical restraints **Job Description:** - Conduct clinical interviews as required - Care for children and adolescents receiving inpatient mental health services, ages 5-18 - Manage common diagnoses such as Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Gender Dysphoria - Provide traditional medical and psychiatric care, alongside specialized therapies including pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy, and community gardening - Work with patient ratios of RN: Day 1:5-6; Night 1:16 with resource support - Collaborate with a team comprising Psych Techs, a Nurse Supervisor, a Nurse Manager, a House Administrator, a Charge Nurse, a Nurse Practitioner, a Psychiatrist, an Occupational Therapist, and security personnel - Utilize Cerner for charting and Pyxis for equipment management - Be open to floating between two pediatric units - Participate in a two-week daytime orientation followed by two 12-hour shifts on contracted schedule - Schedule includes every other weekend rotation and shared holiday responsibilities - Expected to work professionally in any solid color scrubs - Be prepared for heavy snow conditions during the winter months
