About the Job
The Quality reporting nurse works under the supervision of the Director of Quality to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
Job Components

o Keeping access to protected health information secure and confidential
o Establishes a safe, supportive work environment that promotes teamwork.
Core Duties:
o Collaborates with quality team on required reporting including but not limited to: NHSN, CMS, and Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
o Coordinates, collects, and reports data for CMS’s Health Equity initiative.
o Performs chart reviews to validate data.
o Analyzes and monitors performance data to determine trends to reduce costs and improve patient services.
o In collaboration with Infection control nurse, conducts rounds on inpatient units monitoring isolation, device counts, and maintenance of lines.
o Assists with employee health activities to include but not limited to, performing tuberculin skin testing and immunizations.
o Provides coverage when the employee health nurse is on lunch break or absent from work.
o Assists with drug test screening as needed.
o Assist with Influenza vaccination events and cart annually.
o Manages quality projects as assigned
o Any other tasks delegated by the Director of Quality.
Essential Skill Competencies:
Computer skills with word processing, excel, power point, data and information presentation
Reads and comprehends written instructions, able to interpret medical orders, correspondence, memorandums and medical records
Initiative and ability to make independent judgments are required
Professional knowledge in health care
Working well with groups and independently
Minimum Requirements:
Current RN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing or similar professional degree and licensure or certification. Current NHSN membership. Tuberculosis skin testing certification. BLS certification. Performance of employee drug screen testing, when class available. Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication.
Interaction Skills:
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing; Ability to provide instructions and education
