Located in North Seattle, the new facility features 75 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 25 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It also houses an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. (https://facilities.uw.edu/projects/behavioral-health-teaching-facility)** **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** + Provide nursing support on our inpatient psychiatric units during urgent and emergent situations + Collaborate closely with the nursing supervisor to triage and prioritize patient needs + Provide safe, therapeutic care for patients with complex behavioral health needs + Deliver direct patient care, including crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic communication + Administer medications, perform assessments, and conduct interventions following established protocols + Actively participate in emergency management, which includes responding to behavioral codes, rapid response calls, and critical situations + Engage in committees and continuing education programs relevant to behavioral health nursing **REQUIREMENTS** + 1 year of recent inpatient psychiatric nursing experience + Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State + Active BLS + Must be willing to work with geriatric psychiatric patients + Must be able to provide medical-surgical care to a behavioral health patients of low and high acuity **ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST** UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
