About Us:
UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health – Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital – UofL Health – South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.

Responsibilities:
The RN Shift Coordinator will provide support and will work collaboratively with the Clinical Manager and the Director. The Shift Coordinator will hold staff accountable on his/her shift and provide feedback to Clinical Manager. The Shift Coordinator is an extension of the Clinical Manager and is empowered to address issues and concerns on his/her respective shift. This staff member will work 1/3rd of her/his shifts in staffing.
- Assist with staffing and scheduling.
- Improve patient experience by rounding on patients and providing service recovery on her/his shift.
- Ensure compliance with metrics.
- Acts as a resource for staff.
- Participates in the staff interview process and retention of staff.
- Provides feedback for and assists with the writing and delivering of performance reviews.
- Provides coaching and counseling as appropriate.
- On-call for scheduled weekends to work.
- Actively participates on unit committees and other unit meetings
Required Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or University + 2 years of nursing experience OR Associate's degree in nursing + 3 years of nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- National certification in specialty or nursing administration is preferred.
- ICU Experience
- Previous leadership experience.
