Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lead comprehensive training programs and in-service sessions for nursing staff.
- Oversee orientation programs and ensure staff is up-to-date with best practices and protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing coordinators to provide support across all shifts.
- Manage all aspects of infection prevention, including surveillance, reporting, and staff education.
- Ensure compliance with infection control regulations and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Lead infection control meetings and present data to facility leadership.
- Support the facility's Quality Assurance (QA) program, ensuring high nursing standards and preparedness for regulatory surveys.
- Conduct audits on resident care outcomes, document findings, and implement improvement plans.
- Investigate incidents, report findings, and collaborate on corrective actions.
- Work closely with the Medical Department to develop and maintain effective emergency response protocols.
- Regularly evaluate emergency equipment and ensure staff readiness in emergency situations.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Valid Infection Control Certificate.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices and nursing regulations.
