Overview:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing, the RN Supervisor is responsible for providing nursing oversight and case management to a designated home/caseload so as to ensure that all medical/nursing needs are being addressed. The RN Supervisor provides clinical direction and training to LPN staff and participates in rotating on call schedule so as to ensure 24-7 availability to LPN and AMAP staff in the program. Practices and promotes the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
Responsibilities:Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- The RN Supervisor is responsible to manage all health care needs for a caseload of people in a particular residence or group of residences. This includes but is not limited to completion of quarterlies and annuals, tracking and completion of labs and appointments, quarterly nursing reviews, communication with medical providers.
- Perform MD rounds with the Medical Director and ensure that all MD orders are implemented timely and all recommendations/order are appropriately documented and completed.
- RN Supervisors provides clinical oversight to the LPN staff by providing training and guidelines for delegated nursing functions and ensuring that skills performed as in accordance with appropriate nursing standards and training provided. Includes periodic observation of medication passes and other delegated nursing functions. Provide feedback to AD of Nursing for inclusion into ongoing support meetings ad annual performance evaluation.
- RN Supervisor provides clinical supervision to AMAP staff including completing certification and re-certification, periodic inspection of delegated nursing functions. Provide feedback to AMAP supervisor for inclusion into ongoing support meetins and annual performance evaluation.
- Ensures that adherence to all ICF regulations and participates in oingoing surveys by OPWDD.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS Registered Professional Nursing License required
- CPR certified and must maintain
- College degree in nursing preferred
- Experience supporting people with I/DD preferred
- One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
