Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Surgical Nephrology plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing surgical interventions related to nephrology. The RN ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Assessing, planning, and implementing care plans for patients undergoing surgical procedures related to nephrology.
Providing direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting in surgical interventions.
Monitoring and managing post-operative complications, such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances.
Educating patients and their families on post-operative care and management of nephrology-related conditions.
Collaborating with surgeons, nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Participating in interdisciplinary rounds and contributing to the development of patient care plans.
Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively.
Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care processes and outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a focus on surgical or nephrology nursing.
Prior experience in surgical nephrology or a related surgical specialty.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
Proficiency in assessing and managing surgical and nephrology-related emergencies.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and family education.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and charting.
Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying updated on nephrology and surgical nursing best practices.
