About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** C4 Cardiovascular Telemetry **Job Duration:** 14 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend; First to Float; Potential to Float to Sister Facility **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of recent experience (within the past 6 months) **License:** License required for submission **Certifications:** Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) **Must-Have:** - Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance, with a maximum of 2 attempts. - Ability to interpret EKGs. **Job Description:** - Unit consists of 32 beds dedicated to cardiovascular telemetry. - Patient ratios are 1:3-4. - Charge Nurse available with no patient assignment; Clinical Supervisor in management role. - One Patient Care Technician (PCT) per every 16 patients. - Every other weekend requirement. - Uniform scrubs should be navy. - Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must interpret EKGs independently. - No ventilators. - Hospitalist available for rounds during the day and on-call at night. - No Intravenous (IV) Team present; Respiratory Therapy (RT) and Pharmacy services are available 24/7. - Shifts are from 7:00 to 7:00 (12 hours). - Floating required to similar or lower acuity units. - Specific floor orientation provided for two days. - Typical patients include post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, and day 2 Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) patients. Common medications include Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine for titration down only. - No pediatric patients; patients are aged 15 years and older. - The facility may cancel up to three shifts per contract, which can be a full or partial shift. - Charting is done using the Cerner system. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is not required.
