About The Position
Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Telemetry/Step Down Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights (Days of the week - discussion with the manager to meet the needs of the unit) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: One year of nursing experience required License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC) Must-Have: - Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing - Strong communication skills - Ability to assess and prioritize patient care needs Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards - Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting - Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs and attend education programs - Use patient education materials relevant to patient population with assistance - Assess readiness to learn and developmental level of patients and factors affecting the ability to learn - Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance in revising plans of care as needed - Communicate relevant information for continuity of care - Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care - Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan - Utilize organizational and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care - Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs and consult with appropriate resources for complex care issues - Develop goals for professional growth or minimizing limitations with assistance - Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities - Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families - Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care - Use full range of communication to convey planning and identify/address cultural and ethnic issues in patient care - Stay informed about activities which facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment This posting is designed for those who wish to grow in their nursing career, working within a collaborative team to ensure positive patient outcomes.
