About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry **Job Specialty:** Telemetry **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year in Telemetry, inpatient only **License:** Current RN License eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri **Certifications:** - Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Preferred: Additional relevant certifications **Must-Have:** - Determined, decisive, and flexible personality - Experience with Telemetry equipment and care **Job Description:** - Utilize the nursing process for patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. - Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers. - Coordinate patient care activities in conjunction with ancillary departments to enhance patient outcomes. - Monitor and adjust patient care activities to optimize comfort and care. - Function within the scope of nursing practice and adhere to established guidelines, including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and relevant professional standards. - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, focusing on medical, telemetry, respiratory, post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidities. - Stand and walk most of the time on duty, meet unit-specific physical demands, and assist in lifting and turning patients. - Work varying schedules and shifts as needed to meet patient care requirements. - Manage exposure to high-risk environments, including blood and body fluids. - Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality care standards. **Additional Information:** - Nurses will float on a rotational basis. - The unit comprises 32 beds with varying patient ratios, not guaranteed. - Dress code: Black scrubs only. Unacceptable attire includes anything but black scrubs.
