Roadside Service Technician
AAA Washington
This role is responsible for providing mechanical assistance and repairs on the company's fleet vehicles and member vehicles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsible for providing emergency mechanical assistance on member vehicles, such as jump-starts, battery testing, selling and installation of batteries, tire changes, delivering gasoline, lock-out services, and minor vehicle repairs as permissible.
Responsible for towing vehicles to specified location following correct safety and towing procedures.
Be the "face" of AAAWA to our members who are stranded and in need of emergency roadside service.
Perform electrical, fuel or other system diagnosis on vehicles.
Provide customer service to members and other departments as needed.
Advise manager of any vehicle or operational issues.
Perform minor vehicle repairs on assigned vehicles.
Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
Incorporates AAA's vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA's vision mission and values.
WHO YOU ARE
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements test
Technical school certification preferred
2+ years' experience in automotive and customer service field preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to operate fleet vehicles, passenger vehicles, and towing equipment, with both automatic and manual transmissions.
Must have mechanical knowledge and the ability to understand and diagnose a variety of automotive systems
Competent in MS Office and navigating the internet.
Ability to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
Skilled at working independently; able to prioritize and complete assignments with minimal direction.
Skilled in handling urgent situations professionally and willing to take extra measures when solving problems.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

SALARY RANGE
Hourly salary range is $22.60 to $24.50 and offer rate is based on experience.
Opportunity for annual company discretionary bonus based on company performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is deemed to be a safety-sensitive position.
Work outside in all locations and weather conditions.
Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
The physical environment is typical of a standard mechanic shop space, in parking lots and on the side of the roads and freeways. It requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
