About the Job

Overall Responsibility:

A Roadway Designer 3 supportstheproject's PM and team through efficient plan production. Must beself-motivated individual that workswellindependently in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to make independent designsuggestions to engineer of
record.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Proficiencyin developing roadway& intersection alignments/layouts, right-of-way-plans, and drainage plans.
General understanding of hydrology and drainage design.
Knowledgeable of phased E&SC plans & BMP design.
A firm understanding ofGDOT MicroStation and InRoads/ Open Roadsstandards.
Ability to quicklygrasp and apply new design procedures/ordinances.
Ability to coordinate with utilityproviders for utilityrelocations.
Efficiently generate crosssections& profiles in MicroStation& InRoads.
Preparation of Signing and MarkingPlans.
Preparation of Construction PhasingPlans.
GDOTPDP experience and knowledge of GDOTsPPG andEDG.
Basic surveying knowledge.
Ability to prepare quantities for cost estimates.
Excellent communications andrelationship building skills.
Additional duties as assigned.

Experience, Proficiencies, Skills and Certifications:

Ten (10) years of related design experience or a Bachelor’sdegree (BS)from a four-year college or university and minimum of six (6) years of related design experience.
Software proficiency: InRoads, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Microsoft Word,Microsoft Schedule,and Excel
