Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Business Analyst:
Job Description:
Business Analysts at Thompson Gray are subject matter experts that build the bridge between our business and our clients. The RPA Business Analyst's basic role is to process design and implement creative RPA solutions for the organization. Our BAs work directly with business partners to understand business challenges, collect and document requirements, and develop RPA solutions to automate manual processes. The Business Analyst define, promote and utilize best practices for RPA capabilities and serve as a subject matter expert for others seeking to utilize RPA technologies to automate and streamline existing manual business processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end RPA and workflow automation (document, design, build, test, deploy, maintain) using recommended best practices
- Collaborate with other agencies, military personnel, civilians, and contractors with regard to RPA interest, inquiries, and collaboration projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams, to design and deliver automated solutions
- Work with SMEs to ensure requirements are thorough and complete
- Serve as primary point of contact with assigned RPA customers and liaise between customers and RPA Developers
- Support RPA customers by providing answers, expertise, and insights as needed
- Conduct site visits to RPA customers/potential RPA customers
- Brief potential RPA customers on RPA capabilities as needed
- Capture keystroke level detail from customers/process owners during automation development
- Present/speak to RPA requests and status of projects to the client, project manager, and governance boards as needed
- Develop RPA tools, documentation, presentations, videos, and other promotional materials
- Collaborate with the developers to ensure customers' development requirements are accurately captured for automation projects
- Become familiar with RPA software as time allows to enhance knowledge of how automation works and to better inform customers on bot capabilities
- Support the governance of the RPA process
- Develop and track metrics and financial projections for each automation
- Facilitate email communications between clients
Position Requirements:
Required Skills:
- 1 - 5 years of analysis, business process improvement or consulting experience, preferably for automation project and preferably for DoD clients.
- UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform certification(s). Coursework or work experience may be substituted in lieu of certifications.
- Experience with crafting detailed Process Definition Documentation (PDDs), process/keystroke mappings (Visio, process recording, etc.), training briefs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), specific to building Robotic Process Automations.
- Experience working in fully-remote work settings, including excellent communication skills, the use of virtual project management tools, leading virtual meetings/workshops, and other work exercises.
- Applicants must be a US. citizen able to attain a Secret-level clearance. Candidates with a current Secret (or higher) clearance are highly desired.
Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science from an accredited university.
Desired Skills:
- Translating business and technical requirements into analytic and automation solutions.
- Experience designing RPA solutions using UiPath or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Business process analysis and reengineering experience to assess and map a process end-to-end for automation of other business process improvement.
- Experience with crafting detailed Process Design Documentation (PDDs), process/keystroke mappings (Visio, process recording, etc.), training briefs, instructional guides, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), specific to building Robotic Process Automations.
- Experience with Army clients. knowledge of Army financial systems, data, and processes are considered a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence environments and data analytic platforms (Tableau, and/or Qlik).
