What You'll Do
- Develop a general knowledge with all Rolling Mill systems so as to recognize offset conditions and assist to implement corrective actions, changes or adjustments to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations
- Direct bundling operation to ensure correct bundle piece counts and number and position of ties
- Obtains information concerning order specifications, rolling sequences, piece counts, product length and bundling perimeters, etc
- Makes minor adjustment to bundling sequence, ie, tyers, back stops, position on surge table, etc
- Monitors bars transferred over and directs to discard rejected material to Bundler and/or cranes
- Become proficient in using all other equipment and tools (crane rigging and operations; torch, grinder and pneumatic tools; other hand tools; Mill Operation Systems, eg, QMOS, OWS, etc) to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
- Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
- Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
What You'll Need
- Minimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferred
- Steel industry experience is preferred
- Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
- Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
- Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak, and understand English language in verbal and written communication.
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
