Title- Ruby on Rails Developer Location - Harrisburg, PA HybridFinal round onsite interview required ***This requisition's current PO is funded through 6/30/25, so use that date inthe RTR. The application was written in Ruby on Rails and was running on AWS.PennDOT wants to port it over to .NET and run it on Azure. PennDOT will need adeveloper with Ruby on Rails experience that will help with translating andrewriting the application on the new platform.Description:Candidates will work under the direction of the project s Technical Lead andApplication Architect to analyze, write, test, and document code to implementsystem features and enhancements to convert an Amazon Web Services (AWS) toAzure cloud.Skills:Required: 8+ Years * Ruby on Rails * PostegresSQL * AngularJSPreferred: Knowledge and Experience * Knowledge of Design Patterns and Solid principles * Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion * Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA) * Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements * Experience designing for platform technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, iOS, Android) * Experience applying WAI-ARIA authoring guidelines and best practices * Experience optimizing for the accessibility features of the platform (HTML, iOS, Android) * Experience developing digital products that comply with accessibility standardsPreferred: Applicants with the following qualifications will be preferred: * Experience incorporating accessibility tests into the development process * Experience building digital products where compliance with accessibility standards is part of definition of done * ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Core for building web applications * SQL Server / T-SQL, recent experience with Azure SQL. * APIs and Integration, RESTful APIs, microservices and event-driven architecture * Testing frameworks * XUnit/NUnit * Prefer: Jasmine and Karma * ORM, such as Entity framework and Dapper * Containerization * Prefer: Docker * Cloud services with implementation in .NET * Azure Function * Azure Queue * Azure Storage * Azure container registry * Key Vault * Tools * Visual Studio with recent experience in VS2022 and VS Code * Azure DevOps /Gito Experience incorporating accessibility tests into the development process * Experience building digital products where compliance with accessibility standards is part of definition of doneWork details: * Work hours are Monday Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm excluding state holidays for a maximum of 40 hours/week. Lunch is 12:00 12:30. The contract assumes an additional 80 hours of unpaid leave in addition to the above per state fiscal year. * Work location is majority remote; however, selected candidates will be required to report IN PERSON for an interview at PennDOT s offices at 400 North Street, 5th floor, Harrisburg PA. Engaged candidates will also need to report IN PERSON to pick up equipment as part of onboarding and may be required to report for occasional in-person meetings or training. * Selected candidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization done at vendor expense prior to engagement. * On-site work location is a secured floor.
