Job Summary |
Prepare meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking for the daily buffet. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final order preparation. May take orders from customers and serve counters or tables. |
Activities & Responsibilities |

We do this through superior quality food, beverages, and customer service. o Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. o Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. o Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. o Cook and package batches of food, such as cowboy steak, enchiladas, baked fish, and fried chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until placed out on the buffet following specific methods that usually require short preparation time. o Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles. o Place hot food order as per needed for the buffet to line cooks or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron, and prepare and cook food according to instructions. o Clean, stock, and restock buffet and workstations. o Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking. o Pre-cook items such as bacon, to prepare them for later use. o Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement. o Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant. o Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Supplemental o Schedule activities and equipment use with managers, using information about daily menus to help coordinate cooking times. o Prepare dough (proofing) for roll each shift. o Order and take delivery of supplies. |

Minimum Qualifications |
o Able to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen personnel o Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds o Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours) o Other duties to be assigned. |
