More about the role:
- Oversee the care of newborns admitted to the hospitalist service
- Attend deliveries as requested by the Obstetrical Service
- Respond to neonatal codes and assess patient as needed
- Ensure the appropriate follow-up of laboratory data and x-rays, and ensure appropriate communication between resident physician, attending pediatrician, and the patients families
- Complete all paperwork necessary for the billing of patients for whom the Physician has completed procedures on, on whom the Physician has consulted in any area of the hospital, and whom the Physician has cared for while the patient was hospitalized, on the day of service or within 48 hours
- Complete the discharge summary and write a daily note on all patients under the Hospitalist service, in accordance with Medical Staff rules and regulations.
- Provide weekend coverage
- Directly supervise the care rendered to newborns by the pediatric residents and students
Candidate requirements:
- ABP board-certified or board eligible
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ
We are open to new graduates as well as experienced physicians! Please note that current trainees can earn up to $24,000 with the residency stipend program if they choose to join RWJBH during the final year of residency!
