Safety Administrator
- Assists in performing basic surveys, inspections and reports related to safety
- Coordination, conduction and completion of safety and training projects which includes continuous surveillance of work areas to ensure that Federal, State and company policy/procedure
- Reports and ensures that unsafe working conditions are corrected and tracks completion of safety work orders and equipment/machine checklists.
- Investigates safety and health complaints submitted by management, employees and or agencies
- Investigates/Reviews work related accidents, completes proper documentation and makes recommendation for prevention of similar future accidents
- Serves as first responder for minor first aid injuries through serious injuries
- Responds to emergency situations of a noncritical nature, and provides assistance as required in all emergency situations
- Ensures that proper safety equipment is worn and procedures are followed
- Escalates repeated safety violations or concerns and recommends disciplinary action
- Conducts scheduled and unscheduled inspections of plant facility to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations and/or procedure
- Notifies management staff regarding safety violations
- Reports work related injuries to workers compensation insurance carrier
- Coordinates and conducts safety training sessions (e.g. certifies in the safe operation of industrial trucks, lock out/tag out, production machinery, etc.)
- Conducts Monthly Safety Training on compliance related topics that include and not limited to Lock Out / Tag Out, Confined Space, Fire Extinguisher, Hazard Communication, etc.
- Occasionally will develop training programs for specific process and or equipment
- Conducts investigations of workers compensation injury claims and notifies insurance carrier
- Conducts New Hire Safety Orientation Training
- Conducts machine operation training on different types of machinery and equipment. .
- Is responsible for the day to day operation of our Safety Incentive Programs.
- Performs generalist human resources duties including employee relations, new hire orientation, onboarding, assists with recruiting and administrative duties.
- Supports department and plant wide events and projects, including Kaizen events, 5S and continuous improvement efforts.
- Environmental Compliance (Storm Water, Permits, EPA), etc.
- Reporting and Annual Testing (Generator, Sprinkler Flow, Gre-con, Fire Inspection, etc.)
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
- EHS designation, 4 Year College Degree, et.
- CPR instructor certification
- Computer literate
- First Aid instructor certification
- Industrial truck instructor certification
- Preferably Bilingual, English/Spanish
- Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations
