About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Safety Plans:
- Create comprehensive safety plans tailored to each construction project.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Educate workers on proper safety procedures and equipment usage.
- Perform Regular Safety Inspections:
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Implement corrective actions to address any safety violations.
- Accident Investigation:
- Investigate any accidents or near-misses on the construction site.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend measures to prevent future incidents.
- Safety Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Coordinate with Project Managers:
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety measures into project plans.
- Provide guidance on safety-related issues during project planning and execution.
- Promote a Culture of Safety:
- Encourage a proactive approach to safety among all site workers.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing safety programs on construction sites.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification required.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
- Skills:
- good knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
