We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. This position requires a keen understanding of safety laws, regulations, and codes, as well as extensive knowledge of federal and state employment law, CMS, OSHA, and TJC regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the agriculture industry and be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
3. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all shop equipment and supplies, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
4. Develop and deliver safety training programs and workshops for employees to promote awareness and understanding of health and safety protocols.
5. Coordinate and participate in safety committee meetings, accident investigations, and the development of corrective action plans.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation, including incident reports, inspection reports, and safety training records.
7. Stay abreast of new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
8. Requires 75% to 100% travel. Company car and reimbursements provided.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Safety Coordinator in the agriculture industry.
3. OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
4. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
5. Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment law, CMS, OSHA, and TJC regulatory compliance is preferred.
6. Strong knowledge of safety laws, regulations, and codes is preferred.
7. Experience in conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and educate employees on safety protocols.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
10. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
