Safety & Human Resources Coordinator - Growers Transplanting Inc

In this role, you'll provide crucial administrative support to human resources and assist safety functions, managing tasks such as recruiting, employee relations, benefits, training, and safety protocols. Dive into the details by maintaining meticulous employee records and supporting HR processes like employment, timekeeping, audits, and record-keeping. Your analytical skills will shine as you compile statistics for various HR management reports. Additionally, you may conduct pre-employment screening interviews, check references, and address routine inquiries on HR and safety policies.

*This position is an onsite role, requiring a presence in the office, and is not eligible for remote work.

Essential Functions

• At all times maintain the confidentiality of Human Resources information and confidential data.
• Create new hire files and maintain current and archived employee files.
• Maintains current and archived I-9's
• Be a positive team member of the Human Resources and Safety departments.
• Pull reports from the HRIS system as requested from different departments.
• Maintain good record keeping of employee files.
• Participate in group and individual training and development classes, seminars and summits as required.
• Conduct New Hire Orientation and Onboarding
• Support Open Enrollment
• Ensure the integrity of all data entered into the payroll system and ensure proper documentation of all payroll transactions.
• Processes missed time clock punches and PTO into the HRIS System
• Able to respond to questions related to HR policies.
• Performs all duties in accordance with environmental, food safety, and safety rules and regulations.
• Tracks completion of safety training and inspections.
• Participate in safety committee meetings and record meeting minutes.
• Assists in the distribution of COIs, insurance cards, training material, checks, and other documents.
• Works with safety manager to audit company safety programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)

• Maintains strictest confidentiality in every aspect of work.

• Good interpersonal skills, good communications skills.

• Bilingual English / Spanish.

• High School diploma required.

• Minimum 3 + years Human Resources experience necessary.

• Must maintain California Driver's License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

• Flexibility working in an environment where processes and programs are still evolving.

• Ability to multi-task.

• Approachable, dependable, and willing to help.

• Good computer skills, proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience with Paylocity, or any similar HRIS system (Preferred)

• Good organizational skills.
