Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Start Date: November 11
Duration: 4-6 months, with a 1-month break, followed by another 4-6 months
Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $45-$49
• Completion Bonus: $150/month
• Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule:
• Work Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Description:
As a Construction Safety Manager, your primary role will involve ensuring safety compliance on a steel erection project for a 3-story building. You will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring a safe working environment for the construction crew. You will also lead safety orientations, provide on-site safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
You'll need to be highly knowledgeable in steel erection, ironworking, and overall construction safety, and your ability to navigate challenges on the job site will be key. Your role will involve managing safety-related documentation, corresponding with contractors, and maintaining excellent communication with the project management team.
Qualifications:
• OSHA 510 Certification is required
• 5-6 years of field experience in construction safety, with a focus on ironworking and steel erection
• Experience overseeing the safety of steel erection on multi-story buildings
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, construction safety regulations, and industry best practices
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct project safety inspections and audits
• Lead safety orientations for new hires and contractors
• Monitor the worksite to identify potential hazards and enforce safety protocols
• Manage and maintain all safety documentation and reports
• Provide ongoing safety training as needed
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations
Skills:
• Strong communication and public speaking abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
