Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for the effective design and implementation of our Safety Program. The Safety Manager will provide leadership, professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of all safety processes for the Company including regulatory compliance, organizational policies, and employee knowledge and awareness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement effective safety programs to prevent accidents/injuries
- Lead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to safety
- Working knowledge of OSHA's regulations to ensure compliance
- Develop and conduct safety training sessions to ensure employees' knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety pertaining to the operation.
- Develop procedures, work instructions and visual standards as needed to drive improvement and ensure implementation
- Work closely with departments to prevent incidents
- Assist with accident/injury investigations to discover root cause
- Ensure all safety issues identified during internal/external audits are resolved
- Ability to effectively communicate risks to all CBW departments
- Assist with employee's return-to-work and modified duties
- Measures effectiveness of Safety Program and processes
- Other duties as required

- Previous logistics and/or warehouse experience preferred
- Behavior based safety experience preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations helpful
- Working knowledge of OSHA's regulations
- Able to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to work productively independently and in a group setting
- Proper sense of urgency with all levels of management, peers, and customers
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
