Overview:
The Safety & Loss Prevention Manager will oversee the safety programs and loss prevention efforts at the Vero Beach and West Palm Beach locations, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety best practices. This role requires a proactive leader who will monitor, assess, and implement safety initiatives to create a safer workplace. The manager will also collaborate with teams across Fort Myers and Miami as needed, promoting a unified safety culture within the company.
Responsibilities:- Enforce safety protocols and procedures for the Vero Beach and West Palm Beach locations and serve as a backup to Miami and Fort Myers as needed.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
- Investigate incidents and accidents and provide thorough reports with recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
- Lead safety training sessions and ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities regarding safety and loss prevention.
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety & Loss Prevention to develop site-specific safety strategies and initiatives.
- Act as a safety representative on project sites, ensuring all activities adhere to company safety standards.
- Work closely with project managers and field supervisors to address safety concerns and mitigate risks.
- Oversee the implementation of loss prevention measures to protect company assets and reduce incidents of theft or damage.
- Assist the Director in reviewing safety policies and continuously improving the overall safety and loss prevention programs.
- Respond to emergencies/accidents and provide leadership in crisis management situations.
- Prepare and submit safety reports, including incident logs, investigation results, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure safety compliance training is conducted, logged, and tracked for all employees.
- Provide support to the Fort Myers, Miami, West Palm Beach and Vero Beach locations, as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar credentials are preferred.
- Traffic Control Training (MUTCD or Florida Advanced).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management and loss prevention strategies preferably in the construction, paving, or asphalt plant industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in creating and delivering safety training programs.
- Willingness to travel between Miami, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, and Vero Beach locations as required.
- Prior law enforcement experience a plus.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
