JOB LOCATION: 3520 Virginia Avenue Narrows, VA 24124
DUTIES: Manage systems to prevent process safety incidents by performing process hazards analysis and managing review processes and change processes. Complete internal and external assessments of OSHA 1910 process safety management system execution and compliance. Utilize Smartsheet software configuration for audits in the field. Conduct oversight of an environmental management system to ensure production units are in compliance with state and federal permit requirements. Collect process data and submit required environmental water and waste reporting to all appropriate regulatory agencies. Complete internal and external assessment of environmental program execution. Develop and administer feedback measures and complete review of results for drift prevention and future alignment. Review site management of change requests to evaluate potential environmental impacts and ensure risks are mitigated before change is approved for start-up. Review capital project scopes to evaluate potential environmental impacts and ensure risks are mitigated before execution. Ensure the site self-assessment program is adequately staffed and required audits are completed. Review findings with site leadership for alignment and ensure that corrective actions are tracked. Ensure the site Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) program is staffed, PHA teams complete work on schedule, and that identified corrective actions are approved by area management and tracked. Resolve process safety management system issues, occupational safety concerns, and non-compliances. Provide resolution of identified process safety issues particular to hazards associated with Celanese Acetate Flake (dust explosion) and Fiber (flammable vapor ignition) manufacturing processes. Work within a manufacturing environment covered by
OSHA 1910 PSM requirements. Oversee process safety compliance management systems and audit programs. Assess and manage identified risks. Utilize Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Apply advanced knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Model the impact of process safety using PHAST. Use AutoCAD and perform root cause analysis.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation utilizing Smartsheet software configuration for audits in the field; conducting oversight of an environmental management system to ensure production units are in compliance with state and federal permit requirements; developing and administering feedback measures and completing review of results for drift prevention and future alignment; resolving process safety management system issues, occupational safety concerns, and non-compliances; working within a manufacturing environment covered by OSHA 1910 PSM requirements; overseeing process safety compliance management systems and audit programs; assessing and managing identified risks; utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; applying advanced knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards; modeling the impact of process safety using PHAST; and using AutoCAD and performing root cause analysis.
