Summary:
The Safety Project Coordinator (SPJC) helps improve the overall safety of the workplace. Responsible for assessing safety, enforcing safety standards and educating employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Field Safety Oversight: Regularly visit multiple construction and commercial HVAC project sites to enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Collaboration with Safety Manager: Work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHSM) to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Conduct Safety Training: Provide safety training and toolbox talks to ensure all employees understand safety protocols and procedures.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses on-site; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Risk Assessments and Inspections: Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments of job sites to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Emergency Response Planning: Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans and coordinate safety drills and emergency training.
- Promote Safety Culture: Foster a culture of safety by engaging with site supervisors, foremen, and workers to promote safe work practices.
- Safety Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and internal safety standards across all sites.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident investigations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to travel to various project sites and conduct inspections in varying weather conditions; must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and basic computer operations.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Works confidently with discretion and independently with little direction.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Has great attention to detail.
- Is well organized and reliable.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
