About the Job
Responsibilities: This individual will oversee safety, security, & environmental operations at a poultry processing plant, managing a team of safety professionals and contract security officersto ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, experience with managing direct reports, and a strong background in supporting manufacturing operations to drive continuous improvement in safety, security, and environmental performance. Specifically:
·Provide guidance, support, and resources to operations team fostering collaboration and alignment of safety initiatives.
·Develop and deliver training programs to engage and educate leaders across the organization on safety management systems, promoting a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
·Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying safety, security, & environmental risks; implementing corrective actions; and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety.
·Serve as the primary point of contact for safety, security, & environmental matters, liaising with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and corporate stakeholders to ensure compliance and drive best practices.
·Analyze safety and security data from multiple sites, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, and implementing targeted interventions to enhance safety and security performance.
·Collaborate with cross-functional teams and committees focused on safety, security, and environmental initiatives, representing the interests of the organization and driving alignment with business goals.
·Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory updates in safety and security management, incorporating relevant advancements into operational practices.
Requirements: This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related EHS field. Other degrees will not be considered. In additional, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience with one year being in a manufacturing environment. Additionally:
·Experience working with California environmental regulations.
·Experience managing direct reports and leading teams to achieve safety and security objectives.
·Proven track record of supporting multiple facilities and driving continuous improvement in safety and security performance.
·Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to safety and security management.
·Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
