The Senior Safety Services Consultant will plan and deliver safety and risk management services to insured and non-insured customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts with most complex service needs by providing advanced risk management and consultative services.
- Develop policies, programs and procedures for use by insured and non-insured accounts in their safety and risk management.
- Conduct safety and risk management seminars and training programs for clients to increase awareness and reduce loss frequency and severity.
- Coordinate support from field Safety Consultants and internal service units (industrial hygiene lab, claims, underwriting, etc.) to enhance customer service.
- Educate customers to promote understanding and awareness of risk/loss potential and reduce loss frequency/severity.
- Serve as a lead consultant in a designated territory based on business segment assignment.
- Mentor in the development of technical and service delivery capabilities of assigned team members by actively engaging in field activities and review of service results.
- Assist director with strategic planning for the area and staff management duties, including performance assessments, coaching and participating in periodic one-on-one meetings with assigned team members and the director.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of team meetings and staff conferences.
- Respond to assigned referrals as needed (building values, sprinkler system credits, risk analysis, etc.).
- Maintain advanced knowledge in all aspects of safety management and develop a specialized expertise in area(s) such as product liability, fleet safety, healthcare and ergonomics. Provide training, guidance and assistance to other staff members within these specialties.
- Conduct pre-surveys of major account prospects to assist in evaluating underwriting acceptability.
- Design and develop service plans for large, multi-location accounts and coordinate service activities with other consultants. Develop fee service proposals for unbundled accounts as needed.
- Draft service correspondence following service(s) provided, offering recommendations for enhancements to product, policy, practice or procedure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Extensive experience in coordinating and servicing large or multi-location accounts
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA Standards, DOT regulations and familiarity with source material
- Recognized standing in professional field
- Membership of ASSE and designation as a “Certified Safety Professional” (preferred)
