About the Job
Safety Specialist - Fleet & DC
- Attend weekly BU steering meetings & facilitate monthly safety meetings
- Managing all aspects of safety at the facility from new hire orientation to handling all liability and worker comp claims
- Conducting safety audits inside the distribution center and out in the field
- Helping our delivery team to maintain DOT compliance
- Sharing safety updates and reporting to different levels of management
- Participating in post-injury/collision investigations and providing recommendations for preventive actions
- Analyzing and interpreting data to identify safety opportunities
- Providing timely responses while partnering with workers comp/auto liability to aid in managing claims/closure quickly to reduce risk and exposure

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience in safety management and/or claims management (Workers Compensation and/or Auto Liability); OR a High School Diploma and 6 years’ experience in the distribution/warehousing/manufacturing industry with at least 2 years in a safety management and/or claims management role.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills, able to easily build relationships
- Someone who has a certification: CSP/ASP or COSS
- Strong technical knowledge and background in OSHA/DOT Regulatory Standards
- Project & change management experience
- Strategic thinker/employee engagement
