Job Summary:
The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business and managing existing client relationships within the company. This role involves identifying sales opportunities, promoting the company's transportation services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction while managing operations and efficient delivery of services through effective management of the trucking fleet and operational processes.. The ideal candidate is a driven professional with a deep understanding of trucking operations and logistics.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and target potential clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the company's services and value propositions.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure business while aligning with company policies and profitability goals.
- Manage the daily operations of the trucking fleet, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching drivers and trucks.
- Supervise and support a team of drivers, dispatchers, and other operational staff. Conduct performance reviews and provide necessary training.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including safety, environmental, and transportation laws.
- Optimize the use of resources, including vehicles, equipment, and personnel, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, preparing and presenting reports to senior management on key performance indicators and operational issues.
- Work closely with the sales team and clients to address operational issues, provide updates, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless coordination between sales activities and operational execution.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to effectively position the company's services.
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics. Provide regular updates and insights to management.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in sales and operations management within the trucking or transportation industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Transportation Management. Experience can be substituted for education.
- Proficiency in CRM software, logistics management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under pressure.
