What You’ll Do
The Sales Engineer is a remote and travel Sales position covering a blend of the South and Northeast regions, growing and maintaining new business opportunities in states such as, and not limited to: NC, SC, TN, PA, NY, VT. Working to expand these assigned markets and customers to promote a variety of plant services. They are responsible manage the initial RFQ, part mark-ups, texture line-ups, customer coordination/consultation, and forecasting the EAD (estimated arrival dates) for upcoming jobs.

They are responsible manage the initial RFQ, part mark-ups, texture line-ups, customer coordination/consultation, and forecasting the EAD (estimated arrival dates) for upcoming jobs.
- Pursues new business prospects and develops strong consultative relationship with existing customers
- Respond to customer RFQ’s
- Actively manage all quote opportunities in SAP
- Sell the combined offerings of Standex Engraving texturing services (Chemical, 5-Axis Laser, Tool Finishing, etc.)
- Provide customers with technical support and solutions (tooling, molded parts, etc…)
- Manage the details of upcoming jobs to ensure that tools are ready to move through the texturing process when they arrive in our facility
- Accurate and timely dissemination of information
- Other activities as required in support of department, as needed
- Bachelor’s degree with major in engineering, business, sales/marketing or related field preferred
- 3 years' experience in a laser sales, texture, engraving, or similar technical and or sales role
- Ability to travel (approximately 50%) local, territorial travel to tool shops, customers, and our plant site in McDonough, Georgia
- Detail oriented – strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional presence and demeanor
- Knowledge of automotive industry, tooling/mold shops, engraving & texturing
- Focused and results oriented - consistent ability to deliver results
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; a succinct verbal and written communication style. Good listener.
- Ability to manage several priorities with tool shops, Tier 1 suppliers, molders, OEM’s
- Problem solving
- Ability to influence through effective communication (presentations, written and verbal communications)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite products, internet navigation
