Job Title: Sales Engineer
Location: Nashville, Tennessee (Remote)
Position Overview:
As a Sales Engineer, you will drive customer engagement and sales by initiating contact with prospects, converting them into sales opportunities, and growing existing accounts. You’ll leverage our proven process to manage customer relationships, identify new leads, and deliver tailored solutions alongside our technical team. This role is essential in driving new business while maintaining and expanding relationships within our established client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Customer Relationships – Develop and nurture long-term customer connections to build loyalty.
- Prospect and Follow Up on Sales Leads – Seek out potential clients and follow up on sales opportunities to build a strong pipeline.
- Provide Optimal Solutions – Collaborate with the applications team to ensure the best technical solutions are presented to customers.
- Close New Business – Drive the sales process from initial contact to closing.
- Meet Sales Goals – Achieve quarterly sales and gross margin targets.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Customer Support (30%): Solve current customers’ automation issues by gathering technical requirements, documenting needs, and coordinating with engineering.
- New Business Development (50%): Generate leads, cold call, conduct customer visits, and pursue opportunities, aiming to establish five new prospects each week.
- Team Collaboration (20%): Work with inside resources to track project timelines, offer quote feedback, and support the customer journey.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years in industrial sales, with proven experience in key account management and successful prospecting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or a related technical field.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, with a results-driven and creative approach to solution development.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 35%.
