About the Job
Due to a promotion, our client is looking for someone with strong technical knowledge and proven planning skills to take on the role of Sales Estimating Engineer for their petro-chemical clients
This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates of materials, labor, and lead times for this product line
This is primarily an internal facing role, with some customer interaction.You will report to the Manager of petro-chemical sales and planning.

Production orders booked out for a year
Ability to produce castings from 600 different alloys
Markets served include Aerospace, defense, energy, mining, petro-chemical, food equipment and process equipment
In addition to castings, they have a complete machine shop for fabrication, heating treating facility and testing lab
Certifications include: AS9100, ISO 9001, Nadcap, and ASNT Levels II & III

What you will be doing:
Review of customer specifications and drawings.
Estimating required internal resources, obtaining information on outside components and services, and adapting customer designs to fit the client’s manufacturing processes
Provide estimates that form the critical foundation for the petro-chemical sales department’s pricing and product line profitability
Identifying and assessing the risk potential of new business opportunities
Maintaining a close working relationship with engineering team to drive improvements to the product line
What they are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is strongly preferred, but strong knowledge and experience will be considered
Must understand complex custom projects that involve castings and / or metal fabricated parts so that you can develop reliable quotes considering materials, labor, timelines and potential risks.
Some experience with product design experience is helpfulto determine how all the components fit together.
Strong computer knowledge including spreadsheets and database skills is required
Excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential.
