Job Overview
The Sales Executive, Environmental Certification Services (ECS) is responsible for generating revenue for the division by selling existing programs and services to current and prospective clients by generating new business in sales leads, promoting assigned services, preparing proposals, and closing sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Execution
- Work closely with Director of Sales and technical teams for the assigned division to execute an effective sales strategy for the assigned programs, including a strong outbound sales strategy and tactics for developing new business in markets where demand is growing
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all service product offerings (e.g., Recycled Content (building materials, textiles, plastic, electronics), FloorScore, Indoor Advantage Gold certifications)
- Assist in identifying industry trends, key developments, and competitive landscape for SCS’ products and services; recommend and implement strategy to maximize competitive advantage
- Assist in identifying opportunities for service bundling, new service development, cross selling opportunities, and service enhancements to expand program offerings
- Manage sales pipeline in Salesforce CRM to report during weekly sales meetings
- Collaborate across divisions to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing intelligence
- Attend online trainings and sales meetings
Outbound Sales
- Generate and maintain sales pipeline in Salesforce via cold calling (very limited), responding to inquiries, referrals, and internet leads
- Meet and exceed personal sales targets on a quarterly basis
- Prequalify sales leads and maintain status of all new business opportunities in Salesforce CRM database
- Represent SCS at conferences and trade shows as required
- Collaborate with colleagues, technical team, and Marketing department to ensure sufficient content and collateral are developed and kept up to date in support of the sales effort
Client Relationship Management
- Recommend bundled services to current and potential clients based on analysis of client needs and applicability of program offerings
- Prepare and deliver presentations for clients including online meetings (MS Teams platform)
- Generate proposals, work orders, and professional service agreements for new clients
- Enter and maintain client information in Salesforce database per program protocols
- Negotiate prices and terms of sale, along with the client services/account management team
- Submit work orders and change orders, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or similar field or
- 2+ years of equivalent work experience and
- 2+ years of experience in a B2B environment selling highly technical programs or services (textile, consumer goods, building materials, green building, sustainability experience)
- Ability to comprehend and sell highly technical programs and services
- Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sales CRM systems including experience with Salesforce
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills; able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform client research using the internet
- Initiative and ability to work independently, responsive and adaptive to team environment

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.
Estimated Annual Salary
$50,918.40 - $66,266.74
