Objective of the Role:
The primary responsibility of this position is to drive sales for General Assembly Applications across North America while overseeing the Sales Center operations. This role involves managing a team of 6-8 individuals and will report directly to a Director of Sales. The designated territory for this role encompasses both the United States and Canada, with expected travel of 50%.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Duties:
- Achieve revenue targets set by the Business.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
- Manage team staffing requirements and provide effective team leadership.
- Lead the determination and implementation of local pricing and discount structures.
- Devise and execute market development and marketing initiatives aligned with Business Unit objectives.
- Provide support to key customer accounts.
- Collaborate with Business Unit Management to formulate and report on sales strategies.
- Streamline and optimize local sales processes.
- Facilitate communication on global projects involving End Users, Machine Builders, and Design Engineers.
- Negotiate contracts with key accounts.
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Implement and refine service strategies.
Management and Strategic Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of the Outside Sales team.
- Manage staffing, budget, bookings, and billings within the Sales Team.
- Plan and control sales and staffing costs effectively.
- Coordinate sales activities to align with the strategic objectives of the Business Unit and achieve revenue targets.
- Contribute to the development of new applications and business areas.
- Establish pricing and discount structures in accordance with established guidelines.
- Develop and execute sales activities to meet revenue targets while adhering to budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Demonstrated progressive experience in sales management and account/project sales, preferably 7-10 years.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering, particularly within the automotive market.
- Ability to comprehend complex business strategies.
- Possess an entrepreneurial leadership mindset.
- Proven track record as a networker and relationship builder with tangible results.
- Ability to travel 60%, in which 5% is international.
