The **Genetic Testing Solution District Manager** will lead he sales team and driving business in the genetic testing space (quantitative PCR and Sanger Sequencing/Fragment Analysis) throughout the clinical market. They will implement commercial strategies to achieve the annual operating plan. In addition, this person will ensure there is a driven focus on the customer, sales force efficiency, funnel management, price optimization, targeted promotions, and an effective sales channel strategy. They will develop, motivate, , and retain a dedicated team. **How you will make an impact** + A driven focus on the customer + Demonstrated outstanding leadership and sales management capabilities + A strong personal character coupled with an intuition for business, perceptiveness, and ability to navigate complex and dynamic market conditions + The ability to thrive in a fast-paced business culture. + An ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop bold and innovative sales strategies to capitalize on those opportunities + The ability to think clearly and critically, articulate a vision, and inspire others to follow + The fortitude to take risks and can make objective fact-based decisions using hard data as well as intuition and experience. + Consistent record of working effectively in a highly matrixed internal company environment **What will you do?** + Implement commercial strategies to ensure achievement of the annual operating plan. + Maintain robust monthly, quarterly and long-term forecasting processes. + Consistently supervises results of sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking using Sales Force and other designated IT tools. + Driving growth of the GTS business via our channel partners including Fisher Scientific, Fisher Healthcare, and our Biosciences channels. + Regularly provide feedback of field and market intelligence to influence sales, marketing, and division leadership. + Maintain up to date knowledge of Genetic Analysis technologies, products, markets, and customer buying practices required to effectively lead a sales team to compete and grow the business. + Ensure that comprehensive product and application knowledge is used to effectively understand customer needs and position solutions to drive business performance. + Serve as a role model and coach to the front-line sales team in all aspects of the sales process and customer relationship management. + Control expenses against pre-established budget and submit required reports on a timely basis. + Attract, develop, and retain sales reps. Build high performing teams, inspire others, lead through change and resolve conflicts. Openly communicate, develop the team, and drive performance. **How will you get there?** + Bachelor's Degree: Biology, Molecular Biology, biochemistry, or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Master's degree preferred. + Extensive knowledge of and Clinical Markets (PCR/qPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis and Microarrays) is highly desirable + 7+ years of effective sales representative experience + Experience managing accounts, sales and client relationships with a rack record of consistent sales achievement + Experience leading sales teams (strongly preferred) + Setting sales strategies and coaching for selling efficiency + Analyzing industry & markets + Planning business, forecasting, and budgeting resources + Capital equipment experience + Understanding of the clinical market and regulations Thermo Fisher Scientific offers employment with an innovative, forward-thinking organization, and outstanding career and development prospects. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
