Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned insurance sales professional to join our team at Ahoy! Insurance, focusing on driving profitable sales growth for our insurance products through B2B relationships (i.e. agents, brokers, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance outside sales, a passion for the marine industry, and excellent relationship-building skills. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with marine and yacht specialty brokers to promote our Yacht Insurance product as well as the Pleasure Watercraft Insurance product and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics, with a focus on profitable growth
Develop and execute B2B2C sales strategies to drive profitable sales growth for our
insurance products
Build and maintain strong relationships with marine and specialty insurance brokers to
promote our product and increase market share
Set productivity and profitability goals for each of those sales partners and manage them
based on those
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and
lead generation
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, distribution, and
marketing teams, to ensure alignment and effective sales support
Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, agents and clients, ensuring timely and
effective communication
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to
maintain a competitive edge
• Serve as a center of industry knowledge for the Insurance Product and Engineering teams, bringing in important perspectives on what is needed to best position Ahoy! In the market
Requirements
3+ years of sales experience in the insurance industry through
agencies/brokerages/networks, preferably in a marine or specialty lines context and/or as
a territory manager
Proven track record of driving sales growth and meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong relationships with marine and yacht specialty brokers - Preferred
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make
informed sales decisions
Industry-recognized insurance designations (e.g. CIC, ARM) are a plus
Strong IT proficiency
Skills

Enterprise Suite (e.g. Google docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drive, Gmail, etc.) as well as MS productivity applications, Zoom, Zoho, etc.
