Opportunity Overview: The Sales Manager will create and develop the sales department from the ground up. This role involves defining strategic goals, managing sales activities, and driving customer acquisition and retention strategies. The ideal candidate has experience at early-stage start-ups and is excited about building new teams and processes. They will be proactive, highly communicative, and passionate about providing outstanding customer experiences while simultaneously identifying and developing a top-tier sales team. This is a Full-Time role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to foster growth in the customer service sector.
- Create and lead a team to manage inbound and outbound sales opportunities and customer interactions.
- Respond to inbound inquiries via email, chat, and telephone in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct proactive check-in calls with new customers to ensure an exceptional onboarding experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams through Slack, email, and other communication tools to align on customer needs and feedback.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate long-term partnerships.
- Direct customers to appropriate medical professionals when necessary, ensuring compliance with company policy (sales representatives do not provide medical guidance).
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management.
- Oversee the training and development of sales staff, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Work weekends or flexible hours as needed, adhering to team schedules.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success in building and managing a sales team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented company.
- Prior experience at early-stage start-ups is strongly preferred.
- Experience building sales, onboarding, and retention action plans and workflows.
- Experience coaching and leading high-performing teams via effective 1:1 and team norms, feedback, and measurement.
- Familiarity working with support ticketing and/or support CRM software tools such as Zendesk or Salesforce).
- Comfortable handling ambiguity and leading teams through growth and change.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer-centric approach.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, demonstrating self-motivation and discipline.
- Familiarity with using Slack, email, and other digital communication tools.
- Completion of HIPAA training (will be provided during onboarding).
- Previous experience in customer service or sales management is highly preferred.
We have a market-based compensation structure. The salary for this position may vary based on a candidate's experience, industry expertise, technical skills, and location.
