About the Job
General Summary:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the profitable sales and marketing activities of the region including leadership of the outside sales (Account Manager) team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops plans & procedures to achieve projected sales and margin goals using budgeted resources.
2. Develops strategies to deliver results for Key Growth Initiatives and drives execution across sales team.
3. Manages sales team mix portfolio to ensure that each team member is exposing and promoting our product and solutions offering to assigned customers.
4. Facilitates the timely assessment of, and subsequent sales to, all creditworthy customers across the spectrum of industrial end-user, OEM, and contractor customers.
5. Directs budget responsibility for Sales, Gross Margin, Sales Expense, Meals & Entertainment, and Training.
6. Provides timely and accurate sales forecasts and subsequent performance reports on key initiatives.
7. Coordinates with and supports Sales Management to develop joint plans to grow market share and develop a team of professional managers and sales associates
8. Conducts Sales Management meetings and participate in General Sales Meetings as required by the General Manager.
9. Notifies the Credit Manager of all sizable orders for appropriate credit review, and advise the Credit Manager of any changes relating to a customer’s status or location. Coordinate with the Credit Manager to resolve all open receivables or credit issues in a timely manner.
10. Monitors the planning process, and subsequent performance, of all assigned Account Managers with a focus on continuous sales growth.
11. Contributes to superior customer service levels, with an emphasis on timely and accurate quotes, order entry, and problem resolution.
12. Implements and monitors pricing, rebates, and the database in support of profitable and continuous market share gains.
13. Maintains all required customer information (Account Profiles) to support marketing initiatives; Salesforce.
14. Coordinates with local factory representatives and manufacturers representatives in order to develop a positive and productive relationship in support of joint marketing and sales goals.
15. Implements plan to maximize our relationship with manufacturing members of Affiliated Distributors.
16. Assumes direct responsibility for the sales and marketing of Allen-Bradley and Hoffman product lines.
17. Coordinates personal training requirements and professional development initiatives with the General Manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering disciplines preferred, but not required
2. 2+ years sales experience in electrical automation, industrial electrical, or wholesale electrical distribution industries
3. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Salesforce/CRM, PowerBI
4. Strong business writing and oral presentation skills, understanding of sales budgeting process
5. Professionalism, teaming, diligence, positive attitude, strong analytical and negotiating skills, strong organizational skills.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Direct Reports: Account Managers
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Overnight travel required.
