JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sales Operations Manager is a member of the Sales Leadership Team and is responsible for optimizing and streamlining sales processes to enhance efficiency and drive revenue growth. This role focuses on demand planning, ensuring accurate sales forecasting, and resource allocation to meet business goals. Additionally, the Sales Operations Manager leads departmental continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data and analytics to support strategic decision making. By managing and refining sales data, processes, and performance metrics, this role ensures that the sales team operates effectively and is equipped with the insights necessary for achieving targets and sustainable growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuous Improvement
o Contract data support for C.I. on contract management activities.
o Ownership and support of departmental systems and operations training.
o Manage Sales Process Improvement Manager and relative Continuous Improvement responsibilities.
- Demand Planning
o Drive the Demand Planning function of the S&OP process.
o Manage the Demand Planning Manager and the functions of Demand Planning continuous improvement across the Sales Team.
- Data Management and Support
o Support for departmental KPI development and tracking.
o Support for Account Segmentation and Account Exec Alignment
o Data gathering and analysis on item level market pricing and customer feedback for internal engagement and strategy creation.
- Team Leadership and Development
o Empower and equip Sales Operations team members to be effective ambassadors of our customers and the sales team as they engage the organization.
o Demonstrate a commitment to service and incorporate lead measures for the members of the Sales Operations team that drive high levels of customer service, both internal and external.
o Own and execute development plans for each member of the Sales Operations team.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
7+ years in a related role with proven leadership experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Demonstrated success in leading people and teams with experience in designing teams for optimum results
• Prior accountability for planning, budgeting, and developing/executing business strategy
• Knowledge of food, beverage, and/or dietary supplements ingredients and markets
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Adept at relationship-building and fostering.
• Experience in solving complex problems and delivering results that meet or exceed goals.
• Strong service orientation
• Opportunistic entrepreneur with honed critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Highly collaborative approach to facilitating internal and external projects and processes
• Ability to quickly establish credibility and trustworthiness with their team, cross-functional partners, and customers through sincere interactions and genuine concern, demonstrating objectivity and strong virtue in every interaction
• Prior experience with ERP systems and CRMs
• Lifelong learner with a history of continually developing or improving both technical and leadership skills
• Ability to lead multiple critical business initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing and re-prioritizing on an ongoing basis
• Strong interest in maintaining customer focus and interest in staying current on trends and industry best practices
• A passion for developing, analyzing, and implementing continuous improvement of processes based on a firm understanding the "numbers".
• Ability to execute essential responsibilities team will be done in a way that honors the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the Sales Team and the greater organization and in support of department and corporate goals.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree Business or closely related field
