ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work in conjunction with customer base and Outside Sales, soliciting and qualifying opportunities with our dealer base for large project work
• Daily track purchase orders and communicate any purchasing needs, or problems in advance to the purchasing department
• Communication and collaboration with the location leadership with any special needs or requirements on all project orders
• Work independently and directly with our dealers on large project opportunities
• Develop and utilize a strong sense of all facets of the business to be able to guide and drive the success of the business.
• Confer with vendors by telephone, fax or email to acquire pricing on volume or special orders
• Keep detailed records of both customer and vendor interactions and transactions, monitoring quotes to ensure expeditious and accurate pricing
• Provide detailed training and direction to the Project-Estimator team
• Ensure project orders are entered into the ordering system and proofread and double checked by another member of the project team
• Complete some quoting and order entry of large projects
• Arrange and ensure logistics of products delivery and fielding/solving customer concerns
• Communicate with customer on logistics of their orders
• Resolve customer pricing disputes by researching the order history and taking disposition of incorrect pricing
• Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation
• Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors
• Continuously improve skills in the areas of product and process knowledge
• Actively participate in departmental goal setting and goal achievement
• Continuously work towards a “one-team” concept with outside sales representatives
• Work with the location staff to ensure excellent performance with regard to quoting, ordering, fabrication, and delivery of sold projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Responsible to communicate with the location Sales Manager in regard to opportunities, pricing, and the general market conditions

Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

3+ years building materials quoting, management or sales experience required, specifically in the door and millwork segment.  Knowledge of large building project processes and/or commercial project experience is considered a plus
