The Sales Representative proactively solicits customers and potential customers, performing outside sales for the full line of all products offered, including corrugated products, tubes and envelopes, retail packaging supplies, foam, bags and sheeting, shrink and stretch film, strapping and edge protectors, papers, wraps, and tissue, bubble, foam, and cushioning, labels and tags, janitorial supplies, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Identifying potential customers and actively seeking out new sales opportunities.
- Establishing strong relationships with new and existing clients and providing exceptional customer service to produce first time orders and repeat business.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of different packaging materials, designs, and customization options to effectively present and recommend suitable solutions.
- Understanding customer needs and providing tailored packaging solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Preparing and presenting pricing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing sales deals.
- Staying updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Setting and achieving sales goals and objectives within designated territories and accounts.
- Working closely with internal teams such as design, production, and logistics to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Reporting to management on sales activity, market conditions, and other factors that impact sales.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in sales
- Track record of over-achieving goals
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service focus
- Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, goal-oriented attitude is a must-have
- Not being afraid to fail if it means being bold and improving
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
- Must have a valid drivers' license and have a clean driving record
- Technical knowledge of corrugated, foam, plastic, and packaging supplies
- Knowledge of packaging equipment and operations
Preferred:
- Associate degree or B.S. in Business Administration or related field
- Prior packaging industry experience
