The role of a sales floor supervisor is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the retail dispensary and provide support to the management team. During their shift, they are expected to coordinate and monitor sales floor staff, perform administrative cash handling, and ensure that policies are being upheld. They are also in charge of training new hires and communicating the trainees' progress with management. A supervisor is a very task-oriented position and requires a person who is organized, pays close attention to detail, and works with a sense of urgency. They must switch frequently between assisting FOH employees with their duties (from applying discount codes, distributing change or other transaction assistance to helping cover employees' roles for breaks) and performing the roles themselves to improve the flow of the sales floor and boost overall productivity.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trains new employees in the company's customer service policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Creating a lunch and break schedule daily and making sure it is followed.
- Delegation of duties to front of house staff and supporting them throughout the shift.
- Manages the flow of the store during their shift and can step in to cover any position as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist in proper and thorough training of all employees.
- Helps monitor and enforce transaction standards and procedures (such as MVP and Scan, tag and bag, laying out cash and marking bills, etc.).
- Ensures that all staff are abiding by Nirvana Center Dispensary policies and procedures. â— Takes initiative to ensure that sales floor employees remain compliant to AZDHS regulations. â— Provides clear and effective communication to employees, Lead Supervisors, Store Manager, Inventory Lead Supervisors, and corporate staff.
- Ensures all customers experience excellent care while in our facility.
- Helps with transactions and other POS functions when needed by applying discounts, processing returns and voids, getting change, and closing registers.
- Exhibits persistence and strong leadership through example and experience.
- Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to develop and maintain budgets.
- Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of retail experience is highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking throughout the facility.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
