Job Summary:
The individual in this position will have responsibility and strategic input for meeting near-term sales goals and will position the organization for profitable long-term growth. This position requires an excellent sales, customer service and marketing track record, an ability to seek and develop new business, as well as an understanding of the veterinary and veterinary diagnostics marketplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivates existing and potential product customers to maximize sales, grow brand presence, and increase market share
- Develops and manages customers, sales plans, forecasting, budgeting and sales cycle
- Vigorously defends and advocates for customer interests
- Supports efforts to gain access to product markets through engagement with customers and industry
- Works with VMRD staff to facilitate product fulfillment
- Champions all aspects of the product portfolio within the organization
- Maintains customer value management process providing targets, forecasts, potential and actual sales models
- Contributes to, and executes marketing and promotional programs
- Provides forecasts of the Products Division to VMRD management, as needed
- Contribute to the new product development process by conducting and documenting market research and intelligence to understand evolving industry trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and regulatory development
- Contributes to the pricing processes; collects and documents competitive pricing structures and customer pricing sensitivities; maintains pricing and discounting rules and profiles
- Continuous collaborates with VMRD sales and marketing personnel; a results-oriented team play who leads by example
- Works in positive collaboration with "breakout" teams as necessary, to achieve the organization's strategic priorities and to lead and train other as needed
- Other accountabilities, projects, and duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Desired Qualifications and Experiences:
- 5+ years related sales, marketing, and customer service experience with a successful track record
- Resourceful and innovative at tackling complex challenges in a sustainable, proactive fashion
Education, Licenses and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, animal science, business, marketing, or equivalent
Physical Requirements for the Job:
- Travel 40% as necessary to visit customers and prospects and attend domestic and international trade shows.
Pay Range: Between $68,000 and $125,000 annually. This sales position has a commission plan based on targets. Our pay ranges are determined by job responsibility and regional benchmarks. The range listed is just one component of VMRD's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses.
