Scientist Group Lead responsibilities are in addition to technical lab responsibilities and include, but are not limited to the following :

• Please note that the below duties will be added in addition to current position and assigned responsibilities originally hired to.
• Lead team, schedule, and train employees in client environment
• Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
• Ensure coverage and performance
• Foster morale and teamwork
• Sample pick up from Manufacturing and QC labs, sample aliquoting, preparation, and delivery to storage or testing location (includes sample logging in LabWare LIMS and Oracle)
• Sample shipment coordination (completion of submission Forms and scheduling shipments)
• Sample storage management including monthly inventory cleanup          
• Provide feedback to client on the performance of existing assays / test methods
• Basic lab organization and maintenance and excellent documentation skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Strong leadership, initiative, and team-building skills

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
• 1-2 Years Experience in sample management, control, coordination and/or administration
• Experience using a LIMS system
• Basic lab organization and maintenance skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

Position is Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. Overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of  Durham, NC are encouraged to apply.
