About the Job
The primary purpose of the Samples Technician position is to coordinate the production of samples and/or to produce samples of a prototype and of finished Contec products. In addition, Samples Technicians provide documentation and supporting literature for samples and pull materials needed for trade.
Responsibilities:- Uses multiple communication methods to correspond with Internal Customers and Sales Reps.
- Accurately reads and interprets Sample Purchase Orders, Shipping Documents, and Shipping Request Forms.
- Creates and prints generic product labels for the Samples
- Utilizes IFS Aurena platform’s product, planning, and inventory tools to complete daily job requirements (processing customer orders, creating shipping documents, etc.).
- Informs Sales Reps of shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by the Rep.
- Coordinates with Planning, Production, Shipping and Customer Service departments for product or shipping needs.
- Maintains inventory levels to ensure stock is readily available to fill Sample Orders.
- Creates Transport Task to request and move inventory from the Warehouse to Samples.
- Receives in inventory and moves into reservable locations both physically and electronically.
- Breaks down full case inventory into sample UoM’s.
- Prints picklist to pull and pack out product for Samples Orders.
- Consolidates coordinating partial and full case Samples Orders.
- Ships full case and partial Samples Orders utilizing FedEx and UPS
- Assembles samples utilizing standard and non-standard production equipment (i.e., heat sealers) and processes.
- Works with the Marketing Department to support trade shows and leads.
- Cycle Counts to maintain accurate inventory counts.
- Operates forklift and pallet jack to assist in moving products.
- Files and maintains shipping documents.
- Assists in cross-training other Samples Techs.
- Participates in team meetings and focuses on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follows safety protocols when dealing with chemicals and understands SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
- Supports Sales Team with extensive knowledge of finished products and manufacturing processes.
- Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.

Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years or more of manufacturing, shipping, or customer service-related experience and/or training.
