Purpose:
The role is responsible for various functions involved in the day to day cleaning of the production area, production equipment, outside grounds, and other areas of the building. The position ensures the facility is clean, and well maintained to meet regulatory and customer requirements. The functions listed below are minimal duties, and are not exclusive. This position requires that an individual be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be able to work with and around chemicals, work as part of a team, be able to work alone, think quickly, and follow directions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complying with food safety, food defense, quality, safety, GMP's, HAACP, allergen control, and sanitation as well as other regulations as required
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner
- To be responsible for ensuring that right first time Quality is always a priority and that quality is never compromised
- Maintains sanitation and cleaning of the area throughout the shift. Responsible for sanitation of all line equipment following the appropriate process as determined by flavor characteristics and cleaning matrix
- Follows the facility's food safety and safety programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results. Report incidents (near misses) or injuries immediately (by the end of shift for specific Injuries)
- Reports all non-compliance, product protection and food safety issues to management when encountered
- Ensuring that the department adheres to the strictest levels of hygiene and cleanliness and adhering to all health and safety rules and regulations. Promote safe work habits and attitudes using proper ergonomics at all times; and ask for help
- Verify proper use and concentration of chemical cleaners and sanitizers. Verify proper use of personal protective equipment
- Verify cleanliness and proper supplies of Visitor PPE area located inside the Quality Annex
- Verify that sanitation forms are current and turned in by janitors and filed by Quality
- Carries out any special projects requested by Sanitation Superintendant and /or QA Manager
- Verify that all janitors implement and maintain Color Coding Policy with their equipment
- Assure that hand sanitizer stations are operating and have sufficient sanitizer for use at all times (Offices, Restrooms, Floor)
- Keep sanitation cage clean and orderly, and audit inventory once a week, providing updates to Sanitation/QA Manager
- Work with Departments to coordinate light/deep cleaning of production lines, fogging, and ozone/air sterilization needs
- Trains production operators to execute proper cleaning methods against procedures. Conducts environmental cleaning based on the Master Sanitation Schedule
- Assures sanitation verifications are completed as defined. Collects samples and uses ATP swabs to measure effectiveness
- Operates cleaning equipment in an effective safe manner. Removes waste/trash to outside recycling and dumpster area
- Other duties as assigned by management

Scrubbing Floors, Vacuuming Carpets, Using Floor Scrubber (Where / When needed)
Cleaning Walls, Overheads, Windows, Employee Areas, Restrooms, Offices, Conference Rooms
Cleaning Outside Grounds, Sweep, Pick up Trash, Clean Outside Patio Area, Parking Lots, Compactor Areas
Washing Equipment and Work Areas (Blenders, Conveyors, Augers, Coders, Tapers, Scales, Tables etc. When needed)
Washing Floors, Swing Doors and Overheads (When needed)
Cleaning Sinks, Toilets, Clocking Area, Lockers, Refrigerators, Tables, Chairs, Common Areas, etc. (When needed)
Cleaning and Sanitizing Drains (Production, Offices, Restrooms, Cafeteria (When needed)
Cleaning and Sanitizing Utensils, Scoops, Edible Bins, Inedible Bins, ablets, Computers, and Tools (When needed)
Washing Pre-Weigh Bins, Bottom Row of Pick Racking, Plastic Pallets, Mobile Carts, and Trash Cans (When needed)
Titrating Mobile Foamers, Spray Bottles, Sanitation Back Packs, and Captive Boot/Wheel Devices
Cleaning Breakrooms, Sensory Lab, Hallway
