The Master Data Analyst will support company operations by entering, controlling, monitoring, and analyzing master data, key data, and master relationship data within the organization. They will work closely with business stakeholders, including IT to ensure that master data rules and application requirements are met. This role will collaborate with subject matter experts and data stewards to define, and implement data strategies, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable. This job is not eligible for VISA/employment sponsorship and is not a remote position.
Please note that this position is focused on the management of data residing in our ERP (SAP) and ensuring its integrity and standardization. While some data analytics is involved, it is not the primary focus of this position. Candidates seeking data analytics opportunities are encouraged to explore other positions within our organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead our Master Data efforts by assuming ownership of material, customer, and vendor master information to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization.
- Responsible for complete material set-up, review of cost calculations compared to benchmarks, entering and maintaining weights & dimensions and communication of material numbers once activated for use.
- Develop, document, maintain, and monitor all processes related to how data is input into various company systems, primarily the company’s ERP system.
- Develop a deep understanding of CLS key business processes, workflows, and dependencies between different functional areas.
- Routine monitoring of company data, adherence to processes, and resolution of issues to ensure integrity.
- Work with business process leads, key stakeholders, subject matter experts, data stewards, and end users to understand end-to-end, cross-functional data requirements for projects and products.
- Ensure data requirements are captured for products and process changes.
- Oversee master data discovery, extraction, cleansing, conversion, and loading.
- Identify defects and issues with material master data.
- Responsible for the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, as well as data replication to ensure access to and integrity of the data.
- Collaborate with users across the company to understand their functional requirements and design processes/forms/tables to define information requirements.
- Develop and document key processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity.
- Identify opportunities for data quality improvements and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
- Coordinate data entry of new records in various systems as needed.
- Assist with Standard Cost data analytics.
- Partner with the IT Department to develop system documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ERP Data extraction, cleansing and loading.
- Advanced Knowledge in Excel including PivotTables, Vlookup, Index/Match and Data Tables.
- Tableau / BI experience preferred.
- Background in manufacturing, inventory control, and supply chain is desired.
- 3+ years of business process experience, including:
- KPI reporting and data visualization to drive business results.
- Data quality monitoring; master data governance.
- Strong initiative and ability to provide quality work with minimal oversight.
- Must have impeccable attention to detail and be dedicated to process development and compliance.
- Works well with others; a team player, successful inter-departmental teamwork.
- Problem solving skills to identify and resolve the root cause of issues and creativity to drive continuous improvement.
- Organized and accountable to ensure work is managed and deadlines are met.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate in a simple, articulate, thoughtful manner to management, subject matter experts, data stewards and staff.
- Financial acumen / Financial reporting experience ideal but wiling to train on systems and processes.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree (4-year) degree in a relevant discipline (finance, business, IT, analytics) or relevant working experience in ERP systems.
- 1 – 2 Years Master Data Management Solutions (SAP MDG, Oracle, IBM, etc.)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office environment/hybrid. The hours will generally be regular business hours of 8-5pm and average at least 40 hours a week. There may be some variation in work hours due to special projects, holidays, deadlines, and other concerns.
