Position Summary
OPEX Corporation is looking to hire a full time Saw Operator to work in our production setting at our Pennsauken, NJ location. We are looking for a worker who can work a full time schedule on the second shift (2:00pm-10:15pm). This person will be responsible for the overall setup, operation, and performance metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
Essential Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates power saws to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim metallic and nonmetallic work pieces according to specifications
- Selects and installs blade on machine using hand tools
- Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions
- Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work piece using hand tools and measuring devices
- Scribes reference lines on material as guide for sawing operations according to blueprints, templates, sample parts or specifications
- Mounts work piece in holding device, manually or using hoist
- Operates saw to cut along scribed lines
- Verifies dimensions of finished work piece using measuring devices like Micrometers and Calipers
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years' saw operations experience is required
- Must be able to perform basic math (i.e. add, subtract, read decimals)
Physical/Work Environments
- Worker will be working in a production shop setting
- Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Worker must be able to stand throughout duration of shift
