About the Job
We are looking for a Saw Operator to join our team at Adecco for our client in Fredericktown, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for processing metal in preparation for the next manufacturing stage, including reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, operating saws, and ensuring quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Read, interpret, and analyze mechanical drawings to prepare metal for manufacturing.
Set up and operate saws to cut metal products according to production work orders and specifications.
Determine the correct metal type and number of pieces to be cut based on the bill of materials.
Optimize cutting sequences to minimize setup and changeover time.
Monitor machine operations to identify defects or malfunctions.
Perform general maintenance on machines and ensure the saw area is clean, orderly, and safe.
Conduct quality checks for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of mechanical drawing dimensions, tolerances, layouts, and symbols.
Familiarity with saw machines, their controls, and safe operating procedures.
Knowledge of efficient production processes, including quality control and safety practices.
Ability to adjust machine controls quickly and accurately.
Proficient in determining the right tools and equipment for specific jobs.
Strong mathematical skills for solving problems, including metric and English conversions.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues at all levels.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
Valid driver’s license required.
Acceptable Education/Training/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet minimum requirements may be considered.
Personal tools may be required; some tools provided by client
Work Environment:
This position is based in a shop environment that requires PPE as per OSHA standards.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and vibration is frequent.
Work may involve tight deadlines, requiring flexibility to work beyond normal shifts when necessary.
Ability to work in varying climate and temperature conditions is essential.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and use hands for tasks.
Occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Requires good vision, including close vision and depth perception.
Pay Details: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour
